Minolta standard lenses are highly regarded and this lens is no exception. Great performance and very affordable. There's really not much else to say here. If you're looking for a good 50mm prime this is a solid choice and you can often get one included with a Minolta SLR. I received mine as a gift from my mother-in-law but you can find them for a song and a dance on eBay.
